"CPS AREA 2 SPORTS"

Budlong Elementary School has offered numerous athletic programs and after school sports opportunities for many years. Thanks to the overwhelming response from the students of our school and the support of our administration, faculty, and community, Budlong School has been able to offer athletics from grades 5-8. 

Over these years Budlong has added 4th-8th grades Golf,  5th-8th grade Track & Field, 5th-8th girls volleyball, 5th-8th grade Flag Football, and 5th-8th grade Boys & Girls Softball.  

  Budlong School is proud of its tradition and hopes to continue offering these sports. The Budlong Athletic Department firmly believes in its mission that athletics is extremely important in the development of a happy, responsible, and healthy child. It is documented that athletics helps build children's self esteem, self motivation, self discipline, and that it also helps them learn the importance of teamwork. The participation in athletics also shows the importance of fitness and physical conditioning. The hours of 3-6pm M-F have  been proven to be extremely crucial times of kids' days as important daily scheduled activities help keep them occupied and on task. Kids need safe havens from these hours and Budlong athletics help play an important role.
