Our class is learning…

In Math this month, students will have mastered how to compare and order whole numbers and decimals. Students will plan a Thanksgiving menu, using skills and concepts learned from ordering and rounding decimals. Students will also use fractions to describe fractional parts of regions and sets, and to represent division. Our class will complete the “piece of pie” Thanksgiving activity as a fun group project. Students will also learn how to write equivalent fractions and express fractions in lowest terms.

Important math vocabulary: decimal, greater than, less than, fraction, numerator, denominator, equivalent fraction, least common denominator, and greatest common factor.
