NOVEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS

In class we are learning about THE FARMER AND THE HAT! We will be discussing what we treasure such as family and friends.  We will be learning about needs and wants in Social Studies.   

 

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES

- Memorize spelling words and high frequency words weekly.

- Write and identify  tenses.

-Use and identify adjectives in sentences. 

-  Identify and write words that end with -ed, -ing.

-Verbs that do not -add s and verbs that do -add s: 's and s'

-Know nouns, proper nouns, contractions, action verbs and compound words.

 READ! READ! READ!  

 

HOMEWORK  POLICY

        Homework is an important part of your children's learning experience.  

Your   child will benefit greatly from your support and 

encouragement of good work habits at home.  Students in my 

class will be assigned approximately 30 minutes

of homework per day. Students are given homework

 DAILY.  Usually look for Math and 

Reading/Phonics.  I also expect all students to read for

 20 minutes every night.  Homework assignments are 

found in your child's HOMEWORK FOLDER.  All homework is due the 

following day unless noted.  Please sign and return

 the homework folder each day.

 

WEEKLY HOMEWORK

Monday - Write vocabulary words 5 times each, Math Homework Workbook

Read "The Farmer and The Hat"

Tuesday - Write vocabulary words 5 times each

write a sentence for 5 words, Math Homework Workbook

Read  "The Farmer and The Hat"

Wednesday - Write vocabulary in abc order, Homework Workbook 

Read  "The Farmer and The Hat"

Thursday - Write vocabulary words 5 times each,  

(put words in alphabetical order), Math  Homework Workbook

Read  "Animal Park"

Friday - READ! READ! READ!  Do book review and Handout

Spelling and Reading test,

 with decodable reader and Phonics handout if in folder.

                        www.scholastic.com/kids/ - This site has a variety of interactive games and activities. The site includes adventures from popular books such as Captain Underpants,Clifford the Big Red Dog, The Magic School Bus, I Spy, and many more.  You can also get  homework help.   

                        http://www.funschool.com -  This site offers more than 800 interactive games and activities for preschool through 6th grade that are fun, easy-to-use, educational activities ranging from matching numbers and shapes for pre-schoolers, to geography, math and history for third through sixth graders.

http://www.pbskids.org- This site has familiar games that feature characters from PBS.  It has literacy, math, social studies and various arts and crafts projects.
