October
This month we will be focusing on ovals and the color orange. We will be learning all about farm animals- the different sounds they make and their characteristics. We will also be exploring pumpkins and opening one up in the class.

10/29 - Halloween Dress Up - Please bring in an individually wrapped candy to be passed out for 20 children
This year we will be working with your child on building Social-Emotional Goals. We will be helping your child
· develop a good feeling about school and learning
· develop a strong self-esteem
· learn to compromise, share, and accept rules
· develop a sense of responsibility and respect toward self and others
· develop a sense of responsibility and respect toward materials and belongings of self and others
· develop independent thinking and self-reliance
This year we will also be working with your child on building Educational Goals. We will be helping your child to:
· follow directions
· follow a project or activity through to completion
· participate in discussions
· practice the fine motor skills required for using crayons, pencils, and scissors
· recognize own name and some other letters
· identify and name basic colors, shapes, and numbers 1-10
· practice gross motor skills
