Homework
There is a homework sheet Monday-Thursday. In addition, students are to read and review skills which are being taught in class (see below). Please check your child's homework daily!
*Please check your child's folder everyday for important news, forms that need to be filled out and returned, to see their work progress and to see what they're learning about! Thank You!!!
Fourth Quarter Skills
I will be teaching and testing the students on the following skills:
Reading
*Saying their name, address, phone number and birthday (for their own safety)
*Expresses ideas and needs in complete sentences
*Uses writing for communication and self-expression daily
*Progresses from pretend writing to identifiable words
*Begins to use conventions of print such as (., ?, !)
*Writes text from left to right/top to bottom
*Read high-frequency words
Mathematics
*Counting and ordering numbers to 100
*Recognizing and identifying numbers to 100
*Solves stories/problems that involve addition and subtraction
*Identifies and understands fractional parts: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4
*Recognizes number words through ten
Physical Development (Ongoing
throughout the year)
*Uses crayons, pencils and scissors properly
*Tie shoes and manages buttons, snaps and zippers (if your child does not know how to perform these skills please practice at home daily!)
*Dresses self with minimal assistance
Parents/Guardians:
*We are working everyday on these skills and more! It would be of great help to me and to your child to practice and go over all of the above skills for reinforcement. Thank You!!!*
*I appreciate your children coming to school in their uniforms, well rested and on time (8:30 am).*
*In order to reduce the spread of germs: Please send a water bottle with your child everyday! Please only keep your child home if he/she is sick. If you child is absent, please send a note to school from a doctor or yourself.*
Classroom News
We have a student teacher in our classroom. His name is Mr. Sorich. He will be here to the end of the school year.
We are in need of disinfecting wipes such as Lysol or Clorox brand and paper towels. Please be as generous as you can, thank you!

Thursday, May 27 - Fun Fair/Budlong Under the Stars - more information will be sent home
Friday, May 28 - 1/2 day for students (8:30-12:00) - Professional Development for teachers
Monday, May 31 - Memorial Day - No School - Have fun!!!
