The children had a wonderful time at the Budlong Fall Fest! (see pictures below) They loved petting the animals, going on a hayride, jumping in the moon walk, and picking out a pumpkin to take home! 

This month we will be focusing on community helpers, the color brown, and squares.  On November 6, we will take a walk to Firehouse 110!  We will get to see where the firefighters live when they are working, the fire engine, the ambulance, and talk about fire safety.  

 

Important Dates

November 6 - Field Trip to Firehouse 110

                                                November 7, 10, 11, 14, 26, 27, 28 - NO SCHOOL

***This year, the Preschool For All program will be in school only half-days on Fridays...this is city-wide.  Depending on if your child is in our AM or PM will determine when their half day occurs. 

The schedule is as follows:

September - January (NO Preschool For All PM classes on Fridays)

105 AM: Monday -Friday 8:30 -2:00                                                                                                                       

105 PM: Monday - Thursday 8:30 - 2:00.........................Friday 8:30 - 11:30

February - June (NO Preschool For All AM classes on Fridays)

105 AM: Monday - Thursday 8:30 - 2:00.........................Friday 11:30 - 2:00

105 PM: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 2:00

 Preschool For All Philosophy  

Young children learn through play.  Learning is an active process which involves both physical and mental interaction with the environment.  Development of the whole child includes activities which enhance physical, cognitive, language, social, and creative development.

 

Classroom Guidelines

* We always use our quiet voices and walking feet when inside

*Keep your eyes and ears on Ms. Barlow when she is reading a story, talking, or teaching a lesson

*Keep your hands to yourself

*Take turns and share                                                     

*Always put away the toys when you are done playing with them

Our learning centers include Dramatic Play, Science Area, Block Area, Art Area, Table Toys/Manipulatives, Writing Table, Sand and Water Table, and Library.

 Fall Neighborhood Walk

We walked through the neighborhood and saw many different things.  We even got to bring leaves back to the classroom!

We went on a hayride, pet the farm animals, listened to a story, jumped in the moon walk, and got to pick out a pumpkin to take home...it was so much fun!

Pumpkin Exploration

We experienced how a pumpkin looks, feels, and smells on the inside and out!  When we were done, we drew a picture of what we learned, then carved a face on our pumpkin!

       

   

 

Apple Taste Test

We tasted Sour Green Apples and Sweet Red Apples, compared how they tasted, and graphed which one we liked best !
